Pico2000 Software

I've just bought one of those cheapy Chinese 4 port video capture cards and the bundled software that came with it looks like it is a ripoff copy of Pico 2000, which simply doesn't work. What's happened to date.

First installation went ok, but the Pico software complained 'security key not found', which I take to mean that the original card made by Pico had an eeprom with an individual key on it, without which the pirated software won't function. Fine; I uninstalled the Pico software and tried a bt universal driver which identified the chip as being a bt878, but this is hampered by the original Pico software not uninstalling cleanly and as soon as I try to uninstall the Imavision audio driver, the system bluescreens. If I try to re-install Pico drivers, all I get is the video driver and the multimedia controller complaining about 'lack of resources' - the memory addresses being used by them clash with each other by the look of it. I've installed Active WebCam on top of the bt wdm driver [1] and AWC detects there are four inputs but that's all - no pic on any of them no matter what settings. Still a driver issue.

Anybody had any experience of making this card work with any other drivers or software? [1] This combo works well on an old Mira TV card, but this only has one composite input. Click to expand.AFAIK the 'security key not found' problem occurs when the card is not recognised. You could try reseating the card or moving it to another pci slot. Have you installed service pack/english pack from the cd? Sorry, it's a long time since I've done this and I don't recall the exact procedure. I don't know if the installation of active webcam might impact on the pico sw. I have 4 of these cards working in 4 machines ranging from abit BH6/P3 550/98se to MSI mobo/P4 3.0/XP Pro.

All working fine. The sw isn't great but it is very reliable once configured to your needs.
